Proverbs 18:10

I didn't realize until about an hour ago when I was balling my eyes out and crying out to God how crazy this week has really been. Our country is protesting against the murder of George Floyd, and therefore fighting for equality in everything. While this is happening, Covid-19 is still around and we are still urged to wear masks every time we leave the house. In addition to all of this, I found out yesterday that I will need surgery sometime this summer.

In such a time as this, it is nearly impossible to think we will find the peace we want so badly and the comfort we cry for every night. Everyone around me is experiencing a time of uncertainty, and our initial reaction is typically not to go to God.

Proverbs 18:10 says "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." I have recently learned the importance of running, and running fast, towards our heavenly Father in our times of trouble. When we are confused and lost we should run towards Him like the whole world depends on it.

Our God wants to give us a hug, take care of us, and fight for us. He wants us to call out His name before we resort to alcohol, or binge-watching Netflix. We must remember that He is here and He is our comfort.

This week take a moment to pray for all of those around you, whether you know what they are dealing with or not, and run towards God.

Revelation 7:9

God put other people in our lives for a reason. We are meant to work with others regardless of the many differences we may have.
