1 John 2

Sports are back. School starts in a week. I have a job. We are back to the crazy busy fall and it seems like I rarely have a night off. Unfortunately, the rare nights I do have off I just want to lay on the couch, eat ice cream, and watch Say Yes to the Dress. While that is definitely a relaxing night off, I really do need a reminder to go spend some time with God and remember why I am here on this earth in the first place.

Tonight my Netflix binge was interrupted with God really calling me to open up my Bible and spend some time in the Word. Weeks ago I had book marked 1 John 2 and it seriously took me weeks to get back to it. I opened up my Bible and started reading.

Immediately I knew why God had called me to open up my Bible tonight. 1 John 2:2 says, "He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world." God just wanted to tell me He loves me.

Sometimes in our crazy busy lives God just wants to get our attention and remind us that He is there and He really loves us. He sent His SON to DIE for us.

I'm gonna close with one other thing I was reminded of tonight. 1 John 2:25 says, "And this is what He promised us - even eternal life."

Revelation 7:9

God put other people in our lives for a reason. We are meant to work with others regardless of the many differences we may have.
