Someone said to me last week, before I attempted to summit Quandary Peak at 14,250 feet in Breckenridge Colorado, "If God can move mountains, you can climb one." Not only did I repeat this phrase over and over again in my head as I took 20 steps up the mountain and then took a breath, as I climbed over boulders on my hands and feet, and did my best not to slip too hard on ice, but it also reminded me of how great my God is and that He created me to be strong as well.
Our God is great. He is strong and all-powerful and can do all things. God created the heavens and the Earth. He created the mountain I climbed, and the ocean I'll swim in next week. He created the grass in my backyard and the rain that falls from the sky. I cannot fully comprehend how great my God is, He is that powerful.
This great and powerful God also created you and I. He sculpted my hands and my feet and planned out a great life for me to live. James 4:15 says, "Instead you ought to say 'If the Lord's will, we will live to do this or that.'" God blessed me with a strong body that is capable of much more than I could ever imagine. And if it is God's will, I will live to accomplish many great things in my life.
This week I climbed a mountain. This week I was reminded how great my God is. This week I remembered that I am created in His image. This week I was reminded that I will do great things with my God who gives me my strength.
