In a time of such uncertainty and confusion, it is natural to ask "What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why me?" The thing is, God never said this life with Him was going to be easy. In fact, He said that we would face a multitude of difficulties and trials throughout or life. But thank goodness because God promises that He will be with us through each and every difficulty.
John 16:33 says, "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." Read that again. "But take heart; I have overcome the world."
It is natural to be confused and upset and feel like nothing is going your way. But don't live in that feeling for too long because we are blessed with a Heavenly Father that will be there with us every step of the way and lead us back to Him.
I'm going to leave you with something my dad said the other day that I think really changed my perspective on the world we live in today with my senior year being such an uncertainty, and in a world where everyone seems to have a different opinion about everything. My dad said, "If we taught Peyton that losing something like cross country would be the end of the world, then we are in for a long life of disappointments."
Regardless of what this fall looks like. Regardless of what this school year looks like. Regardless of what the next five years looks like. We will be okay and we can take heart because our God has overcome the world.
