What's the point in telling your testimony or sharing your story? It's scary and vulnerable and people could hate on you or make fun of you for it. So what's the point?
Psalm 22:22 says "I will declare your name to my brothers; in the congregation I will praise you." We are called to share the word of God and I personally believe that sharing your testimony is one of the most impactful ways to do so.
When you share your story with someone you are being real and honest with them. You are showing someone else how God has moved in your life. You share the good and the bad times and you never romanticize the church, you are honest about your experience with it.
Sharing your story allows someone to relate to you. It gives you a common subject to talk about and therefore more room to share the gospel.
It's scary to share your story. It's scary to tell others what you have gone through. But it is so worth it.
